Looking to start an outdoor youth education program or add hands-on activities to your existing youth program? Jump into a water adventure with Creek Freaks!
Creek Freaks are youth ages 10-14 making a splash to help the environment. Each session takes kids outside to explore local streams and learn how healthy trees, shrubs, and grasses protect clean water and wildlife. The youth become local stream experts and are encouraged to continue advocating for and working to improve water quality.
How It Works
Working with several federal agency partners, the Izaak Walton League has developed an array of tools to help you start your own Creak Freaks program. All of the materials have been developed for you, and this Web site offers an easy way to keep track of your stream information -- and even have some fun!
All you have to do is gather a few adult volunteers and a group of kids, find a stream, and jump in.
Here’s what you need to Get Started.
